XCLÚJOHN was born from a lifelong experience of feeling excluded, misunderstood, and different... and ultimately discovering power in such emotions. Founded during the height of the pandemic in late 2021, when the world itself became a large cage and isolation was unavoidable, designer MJ encountered exclusion in a way that moved beyond emotion into lived reality.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, MJ navigates life naturally direct, ambitious, heavily opinionated, and unwavering in her standards; traits that revealed even more clearly during lockdown. Analyzing others alike, it was noticed how those who are self-motivated, stand ten toes in their beliefs, speak up for themselves, and move with conviction are often pushed to the sidelines simply for being firm in who they are...leading to a feeling of exclusion. That season of separation became the catalyst for transforming contrast into creation. What began as a personal act of self-definition, confidence, authority and individuality evolved into XCLÚJOHN, a creative fashion house rooted in exclusivity, ethical craftsmanship, and bold, unapologetic self-expression.
